Suitability for electricity meter

Wattcher A1 | New function is suitable for about 95% of the electricity meters in Europe. The list below will help you to determine if the Wattcher also suitable for your situation.

Connecting to electromechanical meter - with turning wheel

- The turning wheel has a black or red stripe (not light red).
- The distance between the window glass and wheel is between 1 and 2 cm
- No extra case around the meter.

The sensitivity of the sensor is adjustable making it applicable to the majority of electromechanical meters in Europe.

Connecting to digital meter or smart meter - with pulse LED

- The meter has an LED indicator, mostly showing 1000 pulses / kWh (or another number)
- No extra case around the meter.

If you have a three-phase digital meter please check if it is connected in the right way: switch on e.g. a waterkettle and check that the LED on the sensor blinks more frequently and that the display shows "2000 W".

Wattcher and solar panels

- When you have a separate gross production meter for you solar panels, the Wattchers shows the total energy produced by the solar panels.
- If the meter registers both usage and redelivery, the sensor will not see the reversal turning of the turning wheel or pulse LED. During daytime you will see yield rather than consumption, in the evening you will see the consumption at home.
